Hi Al,
we developed our .Net Core OMS using C# and based it on QuickFIXn FIX Engine.
I don’t know if this mailing list could be the best place to discuss about it, but if you are interested we can share some knowledge of ours directly.

Let me know if it sounds good to you…
Bets

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, it is a fairly uninformed question, I have no experience of FIX and looking to learn and that’s why I reached out to Connamara and the quickfixn community.

My platform does not have a built in function to send FIX messages however it pretty much open to building whatever add-ons you like in c#. So, I’m really interested in anyone who has built (or knows how to build) their own quickFixn solution from within another program. I am trying to understand the whole process of a building a quickfix process from the ground up, what that would look like and stages involved. If someone has an open source skeleton build that they are willing to share it would be very helpful or if anyone has experience of building something custom like this then there is scope for paid work if I can’t get my head around the process.

No, actually, I think more of us are on the client side than the broker. But there's not much of a difference when programming for either.

No disrespect intended, but this sounds like an uninformed question. Do you have much experience with FIX? It's just a messaging protocol. QF/n helps you send and receive messages over FIX, but the message contents and structure are highly-dependent on the counterparty (e.g. broker's) specification.

(FIX provides a default dictionary of messages and fields, but in practice, every counterparty customizes this dictionary in sometimes-weird ways. The default dictionary is at best a suggestion.)

Hi All,

Does anyone have experience of developing a trading platform add on for quick fix connection to brokers? I guess you are all mostly are involved in work from the brokers side? I’m looking at the options for building a FIX connection on my c# trading platform.

Best

Al
