There's been work on redoing the logging, but it's gotten stalled.  (Partially my fault for not finding the time.)

Is there any way to create daily/weekly log files automatically?  As far as I'm aware, the only way to do this is to shut down the process (because it locks the log files), rename the log, then start the process back up again.  It would be handy if there was a config option for this.
