{{Quickfixn}} Notification of disconnection

Hi,
We are using quickfixn for an adapter application ( as initiator ) to route
orders and receive updates from an exchange.
We faced an issue today, our application stopped receiving updates and
stopped routing order requests to exchange at the same time.
Though, there was no sign of any disconnection/error from the application.
But, when we restarted the application, we received the missing updates
which were sent by exchange when the application was not routing anything to
and fro.
Is there any way to know from the quick fix logs as in what went wrong ?
And if, it was a case of disconnection, does quickfixn sends notification of
any sort ?
